hat's this all about? It's an ambitious personal project to make a portrait of a someone I've never met before in my life every day for the span of one year.

Stranger 12: Joe

Joe was the first guy I shot in NYC.  Turned out we had a few connections also.  Joe is a painter.  He's lived in Brooklyn since the early 60's after completing a degree in the same town I went to college in.  He taught at the university level for a while but decided to focus on his art at some point.  We had fun talking about the silliness of attending a women's college, which was my story.  After chatting for about ten minutes and demonstrating that I wasn't a nutcase and a legit person he agreed to let me photograph him.  Afterward I thanked him over and over and he showed me some of his art on his website.  I'd urge you to check it out.  His use of color made me think of the Chagall exhibit I had just seen.  Beautiful stuff really.  It's
