Paul has been an iron worker since he was sixteen. He was offered a full scholarship to college in the early 70's but at the time he was earning a comfortable living as an iron worker so he declined and stayed in the business. He's been doing it ever since. I caught him leaning against a rail but when we went inside to fill out a model release I grabbed a couple shots in his office. He let down his guard a little more in his office and even offered to prop the door open for me with something. He runs the show at this place. He told me early on no one had ever taken his portrait. I hope this one works for him.
hat's this all about? It's an ambitious personal project to make a portrait of a someone I've never met before in my life every day for the span of one year.
