Flights had been delayed in and out of Chicago O'Hare all day due to the weather. We were finally flying home but it was the longest domestic travel day in recent memory. When I stopped Katja she was a bit dubious about why I wanted to take her picture. We both managed to relax around each other and had a great conversation. She was originally from Germany where she had just been visiting family. Now on her way home she was also experiencing some delays in ORD. I did the best I could with the lighting situation but because it was already dark outside and dimly lit in the terminal I had to make do with the over head fluorescents.
hat's this all about? It's an ambitious personal project to make a portrait of a someone I've never met before in my life every day for the span of one year.
