Emerehildo walked up to me and spoke in his native language asking if I was Boricuan. When I said no he said in his broken english that there were no Boricuans anywhere in this neighborhood. We were on the corner of Wyckoff and Smith st. so I had to agree with him that the diversity had definitely shifted on the spectrum. In my limited spanish and his limited english we got on alright. I ascertained that he worked in the area but lived in another neighborhood off in the opposite direction. He's lived here eighteen years. I do hope to run into Emerehildo again.
hat's this all about? It's an ambitious personal project to make a portrait of a someone I've never met before in my life every day for the span of one year.
